He played three years in the Houston Astros organization. After his playing days ended, Burns returned home to coach baseball at Decatur and then Calhoun. He was inducted into the UNA

He was a star defensive back on the 1962 Alabama A&M team that won the school’s first ever Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. Jarman was team captain for two seasons. She was a state Super Five selection in 1992 and Morgan County Tournament MVP in 1990. Thomaskutty went on to star at Tulane where she set many

2022 INDUCTEE – LARRY TUCKER Larry Tucker was a two-sport star at West Morgan in the 1970s. He played end and linebacker on the 1972 West Morgan football team that went 11-1 and advanced to the semifinals of the Class 2A state playoffs. In his senior football season in 1973, Tucker earned All-State honors. The

2022 INDUCTEE – MARIO MORRIS Mario Morris was a first-team All-State linebacker at Decatur in 1989. In 1988 and 1989, the Red Raiders were a combined 17-4 with two region championships. He also played in the 1989 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Morris then played at the University of Alabama on the Crimson Tide’s undefeated 1992 national
